Former Chelsea and Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte, may make a swift return to coaching, with reports linking him to Serie A champions, Napoli.
Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, in an announcement on October 11, 2023, revealed that Napoli has made contact with Conte. The club is currently in discussions to determine if he could be the right candidate to succeed Rudi Garcia, who was appointed during the 2023 summer break.
“Napoli formally reached out to Antonio Conte today. Direct talks will follow to assess his suitability for replacing Rudi Garcia. No final decision has been made, as there are several crucial points to discuss before progressing with Conte.”
Conte’s track record includes leading Inter Milan to the Scudetto in the 2020/21 season, breaking Juventus’ nine-year hold on the Italian championship.
However, Napoli has struggled to maintain their form from the previous season under Luciano Spaletti. They currently occupy fifth place with 14 points, trailing group leaders AC Milan by seven points, as Milan has accumulated 21 points from eight matches.
