APGA Slams Ganduje Over Comments on Anambra’s Political Choice

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has criticized the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, over his remarks regarding Anambra State’s political party choice, describing them as baseless and uninformed.

Ganduje had commented during the South-East APC colloquium in Nnewi, Anambra State, suggesting that the state’s political disconnection from the center was due to its continued allegiance to APGA. He implied that Anambra’s progress was hindered by this choice.

In response, APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, questioned Ganduje’s assertions, highlighting the developmental strides of APGA-led administrations in Anambra. Opara pointed out that Kano State, under Ganduje’s leadership, faced political upheaval, leading to a rejection of the APC in the 2023 elections.

Opara emphasized that Anambra’s commitment to APGA was performance-based, citing the state’s numerous achievements under the leadership of governors like Peter Obi, Willie Obiano, and Charles Soludo. He highlighted Anambra’s accolades, including awards for best ICT deployment and the state with the least out-of-school children.

  1. Opara concluded by challenging Ganduje to acknowledge Anambra’s achievements and recognize that the state’s connection to the center does not depend on political affiliation but on tangible development and good governance.
