The journey of Flytime Fest commenced in 2004, and over the years, it has curated impressive concert lineups in Nigeria, featuring more than 300 African artists. The festival has been instrumental in bridging the gap between Nigerian art and entertainment on the global stage. Cecil Hammond, the founder and CEO of Flytime Promotions, remarked, “At Flytime, our
unwavering focus has always been to provide a platform for the world to experience our top-tier Afrobeats talents, both established and emerging. As we approach our 20th year in the industry, we remain committed to upholding excellence in all our endeavors and will continue pushing boundaries to showcase Nigeria’s pride, not just on the continent but across the globe.”
In 2023, the Afrobeats scene witnessed a surge in musical accomplishments, with Nigerian artists taking center stage in several culturally significant moments. Notably, Asake was appointed as the Ambassador for Globacom, a prominent telecommunications service, while Davido, who is now a proud father of twins, stepped into the limelight. Davido is all set to headline the Afrofuture Festival in Ghana, which will run from December 28 to 29, alongside fellow artists J Hus and Black Sherif.
