In response to a recent crisis, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has taken decisive action by implementing a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the troubled Opu-Nembe community. This announcement came following a confidential meeting with the state’s Security Council. Notably, the governor also dissolved all youth and chieftaincy councils operating within Opu-Nembe.
Furthermore, the Security Council has formally requested Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to recall the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team deployed to Opu-Nembe, enabling joint security agents within the state to restore peace and order.
