Family, friends and colleagues in the event industry are yet to get over the shocking news of the passing away of Mrs Kikelomo Akinluyi, prominent businesswoman and owner of the popular Blue Ribbon Marquee Events Centre located on Olayiwola Road in Abule Egba, Lagos. She is one of the early starters of marquee event venues in Lagos. Mrs Akinluyi passed away, a forthright ago.
We scooped from sources close to her family that she has been sick for over 2 years and later recuperating. She had a long battle with a terminal illness, we gathered. Her family was hoping for her to win the battle but it was not be. She was surrounded by her family during her last days.
Before she delved into the event business, she was a Chartered Accountant and resigned from Ibile Holdings a subsidiary of Lagos State Government. After setting up The Blue Ribbon events Centre, she started a rental and decorating business where she hit success till her passing away. The late Akinluyi is survived by her husband and 3 children.
Her burial activities kicks off today in Lagos at the Blue Ribbon Events & Hall where a commendation service is held in her honour. The final burial rites will hold tomorrow at Aramoko Ekiti, Ekiti State, where she will be laid to rest at her private residence.
