Fulham is nearing an agreement with Everton for a £20 million deal involving Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi. Discussions continued on Wednesday night regarding the fee, which may include additional add-ons for the 27-year-old, who has one year remaining on his contract.
Iwobi, the Nigeria international, initially joined Everton from Arsenal in 2019 during Marco Silva’s tenure as manager at Goodison Park. The initial cost of the transfer was £28 million, with the potential to reach £34 million with add-ons.
However, there is a possibility that Sean Dyche, who has bolstered his flanks with new summer signings Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison, may consider Iwobi surplus to requirements and approve a move for the star player.
Currently, Everton finds themselves at the bottom of the Premier League table after three matches and faces a crucial early relegation battle against newly-promoted side Sheffield United this weekend.
