Chrissy Teigen recently shared her heartfelt sentiments about her enduring bond with her surrogate, Alexandra.
The American model, alongside her husband, singer John Legend, expanded their family by welcoming two new additions after parenting Luna and Miles. Teigen gave birth to daughter Esti in January and, in June, they joyfully welcomed son Wren via a surrogate.
During a recent interview with People magazine, Teigen expressed her commitment to keeping Alexandra an integral part of her life and her children’s lives, emphasizing the unique and heartwarming connection that has formed among everyone involved in her surrogacy journey and her family.
“We’re in constant communication through text, and she follows my Instagram Stories. I make sure to share behind-the-scenes pictures with her,” Teigen shared about her close friendship with Alexandra. “From the start, I told her I wanted someone to be there for birthdays and throughout life.”
Teigen further elaborated on her desire for their children to be friends and spoke about the special bond that has developed between them. She acknowledged that while her approach might differ from others, she appreciates the genuine atmosphere that has evolved.
“It’s been an incredible experience. Right from the beginning, she knew I wanted something a bit different from the norm. I respect the reasons others might have, but I wanted everyone in our home to feel comfortable, including her,” Teigen explained.
She continued, “I wanted her to feel like she could be herself, like she could kick back on our couch, watch TV, and have our kids play together. It’s like she’s part of the family, and we still maintain that relationship. It’s been truly wonderful.”
Teigen drew parallels between having Alexandra around and the comfort of having her own mother at home to help with the children and share quality time. For Teigen, it truly does take a village, and Alexandra is a cherished addition to their family’s close-knit community.
“It’s akin to a village, reminiscent of how my mother’s family raised children in the villages of Thailand,” Teigen remarked. “It’s a feeling of camaraderie, warmth, and love that surrounds us.”
