D’Banj and Maria Borges Set to Host the First-Ever Trace Awards in Rwanda

Afrobeats music legend D’Banj will take center stage as the host of the inaugural Trace Africa Music Awards, set to be held in Rwanda.

Joining D’Banj as co-host is the Angolan supermodel Maria Borges, and the grand event is scheduled for October 21, 2023, at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda. The Trace Music Awards will be a celebration of African music and talent, with support from partners like Pepsi, Martell Nigeria, Fly Rwanda Air, and BK Arena, bringing together artists from Africa and the African diaspora to honor the achievements and excellence of the African music industry.

This awards show promises a diverse range of African-centered music, encompassing genres such as Afrobeat, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Afro-pop, Mbalax, Amapiano, Zouk, Kizomba, R&B, Rumba, and much more. The ceremony will be broadcast on Trace TV, and several Nigerian superstars, including Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Nissi, Davido, Asake, Burna Boy, and Rema, have received multiple nominations. In the Best Male Artist category, Asake, Davido, Rema, and Burna Boy face off against Diamond Platnumz, Didi B, and K.O.

The performance lineup is nothing short of spectacular, featuring artists like Davido, Asake, Bamby, Yemi Alade, Benjamin Dube, Black Sherif, Blxckie, Bruce Melodie, Bwiza, Didi B, Distinct, Janet Otieno, Josey, Kalash, and Kizz Daniel from Nigeria.
