Atletico Madrid’s head coach, Diego Simeone, the highest-paid in the world, has officially extended his contract with the La Liga club. The announcement, made on Thursday, November 9, 2023, revealed that the Argentine coach committed to stay with the team until 2027.

Having joined Atletico in 2011, Simeone is poised to become one of the longest-serving coaches globally and the lengthiest tenure at the club. With 642 games under his belt, he boasts an impressive record, securing 380 wins, enduring 117 losses, and settling for 145 draws by the time of the contract renewal.

During his tenure, Atletico Madrid clinched eight prestigious titles, including two league titles (2013/14 and 2020/21), a Copa del Rey (2012/13), two Europa League triumphs (2011/12 and 2017/18), two European Super Cups (2012 and 2018), and one Spanish Super Cup (2014). Additionally, Simeone guided the team to two Champions League finals in 2014 and 2016.
