Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias has been taken into custody by the police, following allegations of physical altercation with a woman. The 27-year-old starting pitcher was arrested in the L.A. area just after 11 PM and subsequently booked at an LAPD jail around 1 AM.
He posted bond set at $50K and was released approximately four hours later, at 5 AM on Monday morning. Urias, who earns over $14 million this season, was originally scheduled to attend the LAFC game on Sunday night, which featured Lionel Messi, but it remains uncertain if the alleged incident occurred at BMO Stadium.
The Dodgers confirmed Urias’s arrest in a statement, stating, “We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urías. While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time.”
This isn’t the first time Julio has faced arrest related to domestic violence. In May 2019, Urias was implicated in an alleged incident at the Beverly Center mall in Beverly Hills, where he was accused of pushing a woman he was with. However, the alleged victim informed investigators that she simply fell.
