Drake Reveals Decision to Take a Music Hiatus Due to Health Challenge

Drake, after releasing his latest album “For All the Dogs,” has revealed that he’s taking a break from making music for at least a year, citing health issues as the reason.

During an interview on SiriusXM radio show “Table for One” on October 6th, the Grammy-winning Canadian rapper shared that he’s been dealing with stomach problems for quite some time, prompting this decision.

“I’ll be stepping away from music for a while. My main focus right now is my health. I’ve been dealing with some serious stomach issues for years. I’m planning to close the studio doors for a bit, maybe a year,” Drake announced.

This announcement came shortly after the release of his eighth studio album, “For All The Dogs,” which hit the shelves on the same day. The album, featuring 23 tracks, includes collaborations with prominent artists like 21 Savage, Sexy Red, Yeat, SZA, Bad Bunny, and even his son, Adonis, who contributes a rap verse on the track “Daylight.” Adonis also created the album’s cover artwork.

Drake, who recently won a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2022 for “Wait for U” with Future and Tems, shared a clip of his announcement on Instagram with the caption “See ya when I see ya.” Currently, “For All the Dogs” holds the number one spot in 86 countries and is charting in 144 countries, according to Charts Africa.
