Manchester United faced its second consecutive defeat in all competitions, this time against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League.
The Red Devils have failed to secure any points in their first two games of Europe’s most lucrative club competition, following their loss to Bayern Munich in the opening group match. Club manager Erik Ten Hag has called for unity from everyone involved with the team.
“We must stick together; we are united in this endeavor. Myself, the directors, the team – we are all in this together, ready to fight. We acknowledge that we need to improve, and we’re actively working on it.”
Manchester United has been dealing with injuries to some key players over the past few weeks. They’ve been without three left-backs: Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Sergio Reguilón, leading Ten Hag to deploy midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in that position for the past three matches.
The loss to Galatasaray marks the club’s fifth defeat across all competitions. However, Red Devils supporters are hopeful that the team can return to winning ways when they face Brentford on Saturday, October 7, 2023, just before the International break.
