Cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Anuoluwapo Adepoju has been convicted by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State. The medical doctor and founder of MedContour Services Ltd., who conducted a failed plastic surgery that resulted in the death of one Nneka Onwuzuligbo in 2020 was convicted almost four years after her trial started. Justice Mohammed Liman found her guilty and sentenced her to a one-year jail term, however, she was given the option of paying a ₦100,000, in lieu of the jail term. The court had on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 reserved judgment in the suit.This was disclosed by a former Director-General of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Babatunde Irukera on Friday.
In a six-paragraph affidavit of completion of investigation attached to the charge sheet, the commission said it received complaints against Adepoju from one Marlene Oluwakemi, Taiwo Temilade and Vivian Onwuzuligbo that the surgeon’s services “are unsafe for consumers,” and that she made “false, misleading and deceptive representation in relation to the marketing of their services.”In 2020, the FCCPC arraigned Adepoju on five counts pressed against her before Justice Mohammed Liman,. The FCCPC accused the cosmetic surgeon of shunning summons by the agency to appear and produce a certain document

Anuoluwapo was re-arraigned on July 17, 2020 alongside her Medical outfit, before Justice Mohammed Liman.
