FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Pleased with Progress of Highway Projects

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the FCT Highway 105 project, which will connect the Airport Expressway to the Kuje township. Wike inspected the 11-kilometre road, which is being dualised into a six-lane highway by Arab Contractors.

During his tour on Wednesday, Wike praised the quality of work and assured that the project would be completed by the end of the year. He noted that the contractor is dedicated to finishing the project on time and that all challenges that could impede progress have been resolved.

Wike stated, “You can see with your eyes that the work is going on very well. With the quality of work we saw, we are very satisfied too. The contractor has said that before the end of the year, they would have completed the project. That will be interesting news. It gladdens our hearts that we are meeting our targets.”

Additionally, Wike inspected the 5-kilometre emergency asphalt carriageway from Tipper Garage Junction to the LEA Secretariat in Kuje Area Council. He expressed his contentment with the quality of work and assured that this project, too, would be completed by the end of 2024.

Wike remarked, “I am very satisfied. When we came here to flag off this particular road, which was the request of the stakeholders of the Kuje Area Council, they were the ones that nominated this road, and it is about five kilometres.”

He added, “From what they have said, they have done the earthwork of two and a half kilometres and the next thing they would start is the drainage. They have agreed that before the end of the year, they will have completed this particular road. So, we are very impressed.”
