Popular Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Adedamola Adefolahan, who goes by the stage name Fireboy DML, recently shared his perspective on fame, describing it as a manipulative force. During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the “Peru” hit-maker drew parallels between fame, money, and sex, highlighting their potential to distort one’s perception and lead to costly errors.
Fireboy DML candidly expressed, “Fame is a complicated spirit, much like money and sex. All three have the power to mess with your mind, influencing your thoughts and actions. They can make you believe you’re invincible, leading to expensive mistakes. Unlike regular folks, when famous individuals err, it’s all out in the open. Correcting those mistakes isn’t as easy. There are some errors that I’d rather avoid.”
