Former Chelsea Manager Graham Potter Rejects Lyon Job Offer

Graham Potter, the former Chelsea Football Club manager who was let go just five months ago, has been connected to a job opportunity in the French league. According to The Daily Mail, there were talks of Potter potentially joining Lyon in Ligue 1. However, the Englishman turned down the offer, citing that it’s too early for him to return to coaching. Potter, 48, parted ways with Chelsea in April 2023 after a brief and challenging tenure following his successful three-year spell at Brighton.

At the same time, Lyon’s current manager, Laurent Blanc, is facing immense pressure as the team finds itself at the bottom of the league with just one point from their first four matches. Following a 4-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain last weekend, Blanc is expected to be dismissed. Reports indicate that Potter was approached as a potential replacement for Blanc but declined, feeling that the timing isn’t right for his coaching return. As a result, Lyon will need to search for an alternative solution to address their current situation.
