Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has provided insight into his decision to appoint Mustapha Kwankwaso, the son of former Governor and NNPP National Leader Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as a member of his cabinet. This move, which also included three others for commissioner positions, was confirmed by the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Falgore, during a recent plenary session.
In response to the criticism surrounding the appointment, Governor Yusuf clarified that Mustapha Kwankwaso’s selection was not merely a favor but a recognition of his capabilities and dedicated service to the current administration in Kano. He highlighted Senator Kwankwaso’s efforts in empowering numerous young individuals from various backgrounds, creating opportunities for them to hold elected and appointed positions at local, state, and federal levels.
The governor emphasized his commitment to empowering youths and enabling them to realize their potential, noting that Mustapha’s family background should not hinder his political career, especially given his demonstrated dedication to public service.
