Governor Adeleke Bags Late Brother, Isiaka Adeleke’s Big Chieftaincy Title On His 64th Birthday

Governor Ademola Adeleke succeeded his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke (also a former senator and governor of the state) who held the title until his demise.

It was history made, and flow of joy mixed with emotions (for the Adeleke family) today as Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke is installed as Asiwaju (The Leader) of Ede Land. The Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal bestowed the title on the younger Adeleke as part of his 64th birthday celebrations. The title is the highest traditional honour often reserved for men of implacable standing in Ede, Osun Sttate.The Adeleke family is one of the most prominent in Ede. Governor Ademola Adeleke succeeded his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke (also a former senator and governor of the state) who held the title until his demise in April 2017.

The decision to confer the Asiwaju title on Adeleke , according to the Timi of Ede’s palace is to acknowledge and recognize his contribution to the growth and development of Ede and Osun State at large.

Dignitaries from all walks of life, including prominent traditional rulers have converged on Ede to celebrate with the Governor and his family on the auspicious occasion.
