How Ex-AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s Wife, Folashade Was Rescued After A Week In Kidnappers Den

Her abductors were killed and ransom paid to them as bait were recovered during the rescue operation.

Officers of the Nigeria Police Force yesterday, Wednesday, January 22, 2025 rescued Folashade Odumosu, a wife of former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.

Anxiety had heightened over the well-being of Chief Mrs Folashade, who is  a popular businesswoman and society lady -after spending 6 days in the den of her abductors. Freedom however came her way after a thorough rescue operation by the police -which led to the killing of the kidnappers.

Wild jubilations have greeted the rescue of the ex-Lagos Police Commissioner’s wife -with many praising the police for doing a thorough job. The rescue operation was led by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo.

Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, who dropped the news of the successful rescue operation this  morning said police also recovered the ransom paid to the kidnappers as bait. However, he refused to disclose the amount or the exact location where the victim was rescued. But some reports said the ransom demanded by the kidnappers was be around N40 million.

Folashade Odumosu, according to reports, was abducted last Thursday, January 16 at the entrance of her residence in the Arepo, Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. The abductors took through a swampy area to an unknown destination after dr+gging her out of her Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
