The late king of pop, Michael Jackson, has claimed the top spot on Forbes’ list of highest-earning deceased celebrities for 2023, raking in an estimated $115 million. Forbes released this list on October 31, ranking 13 late celebrities based on their pre-tax earnings from various sources, including sales, streams, licensing deals, and more, spanning from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023. The list also takes into account estate acquisitions made or announced during the same period.
Forbes reports that the total earnings of these 13 deceased musicians, authors, and other renowned individuals reached $470 million over the past year, marking a significant 70% decrease from the record-breaking $1.6 billion in 2022. Michael Jackson has made a comeback to the No. 1 position for the first time in four years, closely followed by his late father-in-law, Elvis Presley, at No. 2.
