Arsenal Football Club aims to extend their unbeaten streak in the Premier League as they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
During a pre-match press conference, the club’s manager, Mikel Arteta, discussed Bukayo Saka’s fitness. Arteta expressed optimism that the midfielder is eager to play, stating, “I’m confident he wants to be on the pitch. Every player desires a spot in the starting XI. He’s worked diligently to regain his fitness for this match. We’ll assess his condition today. He had some necessary time off, but it wasn’t rest, as he required treatment and training to prepare for this match.
We’ll play him when he’s mentally and physically ready, and when he’s performing well. He needs to earn his place, but whenever he’s played significant minutes, it’s because we believed he was ready to handle it.”
Saka missed his first Premier League game in 88 matches against Manchester City before the international break, following an injury sustained against Lens in the Champions League nearly three weeks ago.
Arsenal enters this game tied for the top spot with Tottenham Hotspur, and a victory would place them at the summit of the table, pending Spurs’ match.
