The passing of Nigerian music artist Mohbad, also known as Imole, remains surrounded by controversy and unanswered questions. Recently, his managers shared a statement on his Instagram account, addressing ongoing misconceptions and providing updates on the situation.
Issued on January 15, 2024, months after Mohbad’s death, the statement highlighted ongoing cooperation with authorities to ensure clarity and closure.
The Police authorities had conducted an investigation, revealing that autopsy results from samples sent abroad would take a couple of months.
The statement also refuted false information, specifically denying the existence of a will or any thumb-printed document, as previously reported.
It stressed that neither Mohbad’s management nor his lawyer had communicated the existence of such a document to the family or the public, urging everyone to avoid sharing misleading statements.
Furthermore, Mohbad’s Instagram managers disclosed that all accounts owned by him during his lifetime were placed on a Post No Debit order on September 12, 2023.
This order, restricting withdrawals, transfers, or any debits from the accounts, remains valid. The accounts will be properly handed over to the family once the internal dispute is resolved.
Mohbad’s passing sparked heightened public interest, with his Instagram followers surging from just over 1 million to 2 million within a week.
The increased streaming of his songs also reflects the widespread attention on the complexities of the Nigerian entertainment industry amid ongoing controversies about his death.
Statements from Mohbad’s Instagram managers are seen as crucial in dispelling misconceptions and offering clarity during this time of loss, evoking emotional responses from both the public and celebrities.
