Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has eloquently appealed to Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, urging him to lend his support to President Bola Tinubu’s administration in addressing the myriad challenges facing the nation. This entreaty took place during Peter Obi’s cordial visit to the Government House in Lafia, which forms part of his extensive nationwide tour.
In a statement released on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Ibrahim Addra, Governor Sule emphasized the importance of distinguishing between the times for politics and governance. He aptly noted that the complexities of Nigeria’s challenges require a collaborative effort, highlighting the need for Peter Obi to leverage his vast experience and expertise to bolster the Tinubu administration’s efforts in fostering a secure and prosperous nation.
Governor Sule graciously acknowledged Obi’s commendable efforts in alleviating the economic hardships faced by the populace, aligning with the initiatives undertaken by President Tinubu and other state governors to mitigate these challenges. He emphasized the collective responsibility in resolving national issues, stating, “I want to also call on you, Sir, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The country’s challenges cannot be resolved by one person only. We all have roles to play.”
In response, Peter Obi lauded Governor Sule for the impressive development of new roads within the state, a testament to the administration’s commitment to infrastructural advancement. He expressed his purposeful visit to Nasarawa State, focusing on providing support to the people during the fasting period and spearheading the installation of boreholes in various communities.
Obi, in his magnanimity, remarked, “When I was coming today I saw some new roads and constructions, so congratulations. Politics is not always about thinking negatively, but we should acknowledge things that are positive.” This exemplifies his proactive approach towards acknowledging and appreciating progress, underscoring the importance of positive recognition in political discourse.
