Nathaniel Bassey Advocates for Transformations in Ghana’s Gospel Music Scene

Nathaniel Bassey, the renowned Nigerian gospel singer currently in Ghana for the Jesus Christ Encounter Convention, has sparked controversy with comments made during his ministerial visit.

While acknowledging the global potential of Ghanaian gospel songs, Bassey suggested adjustments were needed.

He praised the unique anointing of Ghanaian evangelists but noted underutilization. Bassey offered insights on how Ghanaian singers could gain international recognition, surprising some by advising a reduction in the use of their native language, Twi.

His remarks have triggered a significant online uproar, with opinions divided on whether his advice is constructive or could lead to cultural tension.
