Nigerian Military Declares IPOB Factional Leader, Simon Ekpa, Wanted

A factional leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa, has been declared wanted by the Nigerian Defence Headquarters. Ekpa is among ninety-seven (97) individuals currently on the wanted list.

The Defence Media Operations Director, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, verified the identities and images of those wanted for violent crimes within the country. While no rewards were offered for the 97 individuals declared as wanted, the military high command considered declaring certain terrorists as wanted.

List and identity of terrorists declared wanted

The wanted list includes individuals from various regions affected by insurgency and banditry. In the North West Zone, plagued by banditry, notable individuals include Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, Boka, Dogo Gide, and others. In the North East, affected by Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province terrorists, individuals such as Abu Zaida, Modu Sulum, Baba Data, and others are wanted. Additionally, individuals in the southeast and North Central Area, including Simon Ekpa, Chika Edoziem, Egede, Zuma, and others, have been announced as wanted.

 

The military’s declaration of wanted individuals aims to curb violent crimes and ensure peace and security across the country.
