Nigeria’s Super Eagles Face Yet Another Significant Injury Setback Before AFCON 2023

In the latest updates, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are facing another setback as reports suggest that Victor Boniface, the standout player from Bayern Leverkusen and nominee for the German Bundesliga rookie of the month, might be sidelined for all AFCON 2023 fixtures in Ivory Coast due to a muscle injury.

The 23-year-old forward missed the last two friendly matches against Al Gharib and Guinea, raising concerns among fans.

Victor Boniface reportedly picked up the injury during training, adding to the team’s woes after Wilfred Ndidi’s earlier injury and Kelechi Iheanacho’s ongoing struggles with match fitness.

Although there’s no official confirmation from the Eagles camp, many are optimistic that this setback won’t significantly disrupt the coach’s plans for AFCON 2023.
