NNPC Clarifies: No Reduction in Petrol and Diesel Prices

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has debunked rumours circulating about a reduction in the price of petrol and diesel at its filling stations nationwide. In a statement released on Wednesday, the NNPCL clarified that there have been no changes in the prices of petrol and diesel, urging Nigerians to disregard the reports completely.

The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC, Olufemi Soneye, issued the statement following earlier reports suggesting a crash in the price of petrol. These reports claimed that the NNPCL had reduced the depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N640 per litre to N630 per litre and had plans to sell directly to independent marketers to enable consumers to purchase at cheaper rates.

However, the NNPCL refuted these claims, emphasizing that there have been no adjustments to the prices of petrol and diesel. The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the current sufficiency in petroleum products supply across all its retail stations in the country.
