President Bola Tinubu, who will turn 72 on March 29, 2024, has decided against any celebratory events in light of Nigeria’s current challenges. His special adviser, Bayo Onanuga, announced on Sunday that Tinubu has ordered that no celebrations be organized in his honor due to the somber mood in the country.
Instead of birthday festivities, Tinubu urged his associates and well-wishers not to organize events or place goodwill advertisements. He suggested that any funds intended for such activities be donated to charity organizations in his name.
Citing recent security breaches and challenges facing the nation, Tinubu expressed his commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians. Despite the occasion being a significant milestone, he emphasized the need for reflection and rededication to the task of building a more stable, secure, and united Nigeria.
