Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the younger brother of detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, has criticized southeast governors for their silence on Nnamdi Kanu’s prolonged detention, stating that his brother’s fundamental human rights are being violated.
In an open letter, Emmanuel expressed dismay over the governors’ inaction and called on them to address the injustice against his brother. He described the charges against Nnamdi Kanu as baseless, intended to stifle his voice and undermine his advocacy for social justice.
Emmanuel emphasized Nnamdi Kanu’s integrity and commitment to justice, warning that the people of Biafra would hold the governors accountable if any harm comes to his brother. He urged the governors to rectify the injustice promptly.
The letter highlighted Nnamdi Kanu’s unwavering dedication to human rights and social change, noting that his arrest and detention signify a failure in the justice system. Emmanuel demanded a transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his brother’s detention and called for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu.
He also stressed Nnamdi Kanu’s deteriorating health condition, urging the governors to act swiftly to prevent any further harm to his brother.
