Sheikh Jassim Retracts His Offer to Acquire Manchester United

Manchester United fans continue to grapple with the ongoing turmoil affecting their beloved club, both on and off the field. In a recent development, Qatari-based businessman Sheikh Jassim has decided to step back from the bidding process for Manchester United. This news was confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano through his official X account on October 14, 2023.

It’s been reported that despite Sheikh Jassim’s offer to double his initial bid, the Glazer family, who currently own the club, remains unwilling to part with a full 100% ownership stake.

Sheikh Jassim engaged in further discussions with the Glazers in an attempt to secure complete ownership of Manchester United. However, his bid proposal was once again declined by the Glazer family. In response, Sheikh Jassim expressed his readiness to withdraw from the process. His bid included a fully cash offer, clearing all existing debts with no additional liabilities for 100% ownership of the club. While Sheikh Jassim’s team has refrained from commenting due to confidentiality restrictions, they have confirmed their withdrawal from the process.

In the midst of these developments, there are emerging reports suggesting that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is considering a proposal to acquire 25% of the Glazer family’s shares, with the ultimate aim of becoming the majority owner of Manchester United
