Jose Peseiro, the coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, has unveiled a 23-man roster for the upcoming AFCON qualifying match against Sao Tome and Principe. Despite already securing their spot in the tournament hosted in Ivory Coast with 12 points from five games, Nigeria could potentially clinch the second position in the group if they can’t defeat Sao Tome, and Guinea Bissau prevails over Sierra Leone in their final match.
Notably, Peseiro has called up some promising fringe players for this game. Among them are Gift Orban and Jordan Torunarigha, standout performers for Gent, and Boniface, a forward player from Bayer Leverkusen. Nigeria is set to host their opponents on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
