Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu, has successfully completed his medical examination as he prepares to join Trabzonspor on loan from Southampton. Onuachu initially joined Southampton in January in a significant £18 million transfer from Genk. Unfortunately, his stint with the club was marred by their relegation from the Premier League, and he only made a single appearance this season in the EFL Cup against Gillingham.
With Southampton securing the services of striker Ross Stewart from Sunderland and retaining Che Adams, manager Russell Martin has given his nod to Onuachu’s departure on a one-year loan deal. The 29-year-old was initially signed by former Saints boss Nathan Jones but struggled to make a significant impact during his time at the club.
Standing at an imposing height of six feet six inches, Onuachu made a total of 12 appearances for Southampton. He’s now set to join Trabzonspor, a team currently occupying the seventh position in the Turkish Super Lig.
