Dr Mrs Seinye Lulu-Briggs, widow of late oil mogul (O.B Lulu-Briggs has been conferred with a new Chieftancy title of ‘Ununwe Gwoduma Emene Ekpeye 1 of Ekpeyeland’ (The Chief that heals Ekpeye people). The honour was done on her by His Imperial Majesty, Eze Sir (Amb.) Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, PhD, Eze Ekpeye Logbo 111, Paramount King of Ekpeye Kingdom and his council of chiefs.
The ceremony took place at his palace during her visit to Ahoada Town on Wednesday, April 10, for the official opening ceremony of the O.B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation’s 39th Free Medical Mission.
“I am humbled. This is a great honour and encouragement to continue to serve” Dr Mrs Seinye said in her remarks at the ceremony.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony include Honourable Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, Commissioner for Health, Rivers State; Honourable Ben Eke, the Chairman of Ahoada East Local Government Area and his team, Mr Ikay Thomas-Amadi, President Old Port Harcourt City Association of Friends, and others.
The 5-day Free Medical Mission in Ahoada will run till Friday, 12 April at the Model Primary Health Centre, Ahoada Town, Rivers State. A team of over 130 medical and non-medical volunteers was on ground dispensing free counselling/health education, outpatient consultations, paediatric care (including deworming), dental care, eye care (including surgery and glasses), malaria testing & treatment, HIV/AIDs screening, physiotherapy etc during the Programme. There is also an on-site pharmacy, scanning and laboratory tests services during the exercise. All services are free of charge.
