Tinubu Commends Release of Kuriga School Children, Calls for Enhanced Security Collaboration

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his delight over the release of the kidnapped Kuriga school children in Kaduna State, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts between the federal government and states, particularly in security matters, to achieve desired outcomes.

The Kaduna State Government recently announced the release of the 287 abducted schoolchildren from Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area. Governor Senator Uba Sani thanked President Tinubu for prioritizing the safety of Nigerians and ensuring the children’s safe return. He praised the president for his support and constant communication during the ordeal.

In response, Tinubu, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, commended the National Security Adviser, security agencies, and the Kaduna State Government for their swift and diligent efforts in resolving the crisis. He stressed the importance of urgency, attention to detail, and dedication in dealing with such incidents, highlighting the need for strategic measures to protect schools from future abductions.

Tinubu also applauded the recent release of pupils from a Tsangaya school in Sokoto State, commending all involved parties for their bravery and determination. He reassured Nigerians that the government is implementing comprehensive strategies to ensure the safety of schools as secure environments for learning and not targets for abductions.
