Global superstar Tiwa Savage has had to delay her OVO Wembley Arena performance and all her tour dates originally set for November due to health concerns. The award-winning artist is currently battling a vocal infection, necessitating strict vocal rest for the foreseeable future. This decision wasn’t easy for the iconic artist, especially given the prosperous year she’s had in 2023.
Tiwa Savage, who graced the stage at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle and released a series of hit tracks like “Gbese” with Majeed, “NSV” with Bella Shmurda, and “Stamina” featuring Ayra Starr and Young Jonn, shared the news on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
In her words, “I will unfortunately have to postpone all performances, including my first-ever headline show in London. I’m heartbroken and devastated, but I have to do this to save what’s left of my voice. I’m so sorry. I love you all and promise to be back performing once I’m fully healed.”
The Queen of Afrobeats was originally slated to headline at the OVO Wembley Arena on November 26th, which would have marked her as the first female Afrobeats artist to headline at the arena.
It’s worth noting that Tiwa Savage isn’t the only artist taking a health-related hiatus this year, as notable figures like Drake and Tems also faced health challenges that led to performance cancellations.
