The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, has expressed deep concern regarding the performance of Governor Sim Fubara’s administration. Against the backdrop of heightened political tensions in the state, with the opposition challenging the incumbent government on multiple fronts, Okocha issued a statement on Saturday highlighting several issues.
He criticized Governor Fubara’s governance style, characterizing it as directionless and pointing to alleged administrative ineptitude and fiscal mismanagement. Okocha highlighted a perceived disconnect between the executive and legislative branches of government and accused the governor of engaging in financial extravagance while neglecting critical state matters.
Okocha particularly took issue with what he viewed as frivolous spending by the government, labeling it as “clueless and visionless.” Despite an influx of funds amounting to N40.4 billion into the state treasury, Okocha expressed concern over potential misuse of public funds and emphasized the need for a strong opposition against the current administration.
The APC chairman pledged to continue advocating for accountability and good governance in Rivers State, urging responsible citizens to join the fight against systemic leadership failure and not to remain silent in the face of adversity. He reaffirmed his commitment to championing the people’s interests and holding the government accountable for its actions.
