Cole Palmer, the captain of England’s Under-21 men’s football team, has made a return to Cohbams, Chelsea Football Club’s training ground. He wasn’t included in the U-21 squad that traveled to Slovakia to face Ukraine tomorrow night due to a minor injury. Palmer sustained a dead leg in his right quad during the impressive 9-1 victory over Serbia on Thursday, October 11, 2023.
Team coach Lee Carsley confirmed this development in a statement when questioned about Palmer’s status before the Ukraine match. The decision to have him return to Chelsea was a precautionary measure, as Carsley stated, “I think Cole would be fine, but we do not take any chances with any of the players. If there is a slight doubt that they’re going to miss a game at the weekend, we get them back to the clubs as quickly as we can.”
Despite the setback, the 21-year-old midfielder has been in outstanding form since his transfer from Manchester City to Chelsea and has played a vital role in the Blues’ attacking efforts in all competitions.
