Liverpool Star, Luis Diaz Breaks Silence on His Father’s Abduction

Liverpool and Colombia forward Luis Diaz, speaking for the first time since his parents were kidnapped by ELN in Colombia, made an emotional plea after his debut match for Liverpool against Luton Town. Diaz, who scored the equalizer for the Reds, identified his father as the hostage and called on international organizations to assist in securing his release. In a heartfelt statement, he said, “Today’s Lucho Díaz, the son of Luís Manuel Díaz, asks ELN to release my father as soon as possible.

I also urge international associations to work towards his freedom. We’re overwhelmed with worry, and our family’s anguish persists until he’s home. Please, release my father now, respecting his integrity. I thank all Colombians and the international community for your support.”
