NNPC Resolves Petrol Shortage in Lagos, Normalcy Expected Soon

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has taken decisive action to resolve the petrol shortage currently impacting Lagos and its surroundings. In a statement issued by Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Limited, the company assured the public that the issue causing the scarcity has been identified and addressed.

Soneye explained that the shortage was a result of a problem at one of the depots in Lagos, which has since been resolved by NNPC Retail Limited, the company’s retail arm. He expressed confidence that normalcy would be restored to the affected areas promptly, with operations expected to return to normal by the following day.

Motorists in Lagos were advised against panic buying, with reassurances from NNPC Limited of its unwavering commitment to ensuring a steady and adequate supply of petroleum products. Soneye reiterated that the company is working diligently to prevent any inconvenience to consumers.

Reports indicated that petrol was being actively lifted at several depots, and filling stations with available stocks were open for business, catering to the needs of motorists and other consumers. The efforts underscore NNPC’s dedication to maintaining the supply of petroleum products in the region and ensuring that operations continue smoothly.
