Rap Veteran B.G. Celebrates Freedom After 11-Year Prison Stint

Cash Money Records artist B.G. has emerged from an 11-year prison stint. Originally sentenced to 14 years for firearm possession and obstruction of justice in 2012, the rapper, whose real name is Christopher Dorsey, recently celebrated his 42nd birthday, vowing it would be his last behind bars. He has now transitioned to community confinement, a halfway house, and is set for full release on July 11, 2024.

The seasoned rapper, a member of the iconic Hot Boys rap crew, was seen on Birdman’s Instagram Live, warmly greeted by friends outside the federal prison in Herlong, California, where he had been incarcerated for over a decade. B.G. gained fame through his collaborations with Cash Money, including the influential 1999 album “Chopper City In The Ghetto,” which popularized the term “Bling Bling” through its lead single.
