WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE: Dr Mrs Abosede Ogundimu; Goal-Getter, Change Agent And Astute Banker

Dr. Abosede Yinka-Ogundimu (Nee Eshinlokun) is a ‘standout’ woman in every sense of the word. The adorable banker and influencer of greatness is the Group Head, Public Sector of ProvidusBank. Dr. Mrs Ogundimu has been in the banking industry for three decades. She started off with her national youth service at the defunct Commerce Bank on Lagos Island where she was retained. Since then, it’s been an astronomical journey for her in her banking career. In her three-decades old robust banking career, she has worked in various indegenous banks including Spring Bank PlC/Enterprise Bank Limited which transformed into Heritage Bank PlC, as Group Head; Public Sector Marketing (Lagos and South West). She has so far spent over 12 years in Senior Management roles and presently holds the position of Divisional Head, Institutional Banking at Providus Bank.

She holds an MBA from Bangor University, formerly known as University of Scotland, UK.

Dr Abosede is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Scotland (UK)- MCIBS, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (Nigerian Institute of Management) and Student Member of the Institute of Risk Management (UK). She has participated in numerous professional developmental courses such as Digital Service Innovation at the prestigious University of Cambridge, International Operations & Foreign Exchange Management Programme, Retail Banking Operations, Systems Audit as well as Leadership and Supervisory courses. All of which have immensely enhanced her wealth of knowledge and delivering customer satisfaction.

A goal-getter, unbiased leader and change agent, she is the Vice Chairman of Chattered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) Lagos Branch. She has led teams that championed many initiatives; achieving and surpassing set targets.

She has been happily married for 29 years to her politician husband, Hon. Yinka Ogundimu (who represented Agege Constituency 2 from 2011 to 2023 in the Lagos state house of assembly) and their union is blessed with amazing children.

Dr. Ogundinmu is also involved in Christian ministry works. She is an area pastor at Decross Gospel Mission, Lagos overseeing 6 parishes.
